Giving Opportunities
There are many different ways to donate to the Floyd Memorial Foundation. The Named Giving Program offers members of our community the opportunity to participate in the completion of our current and largest-ever expansion project. Named Giving donors can now honor their family name, a special person, or the memory of a departed loved one by designating a particular area of the new expansion to benefit from their financial gift. Named Giving gifts are welcomed from individuals, families, and organizations. All contributions will be visibly recognized within the Floyd Memorial facility.
Gifts of $5,000 and above offer membership to the Heritage Society, an exclusive guild of caring citizens invited to gather periodically for social events.
The Designated Gifts Program allows donors to directly support the program that will benefit from their gift. Gifts may be made to any of our programs and services. Some of the programs include diabetes, home health care, cancer services, radiology, respiratory care and urology, just to name a few.
The Healthier Community Initiative is the Foundation’s campaign to raise funds for educational programs and preventive medicine to improve the lives, health and well being of the families in our community.
Planned Gifts are donations made now with current tax benefits for donors and future benefits for Floyd Memorial. The many opportunities for planned giving include:
- Bequests
- Charitable Lead Trusts
- Charitable Remainder Unitrusts
- Gifts of Farms or Homes
- Life Insurance
Gifts Given for the Greatest Need include general contributions, which will be designated to the area in greatest need of financial help at that time, as determined by the Foundation Board.
Those entering the doors of Floyd Memorial are accompanied through their visit by qualified and compassionate associates, physicians and volunteers. The Guardian Angel Program offers a meaningful way for grateful patients, their families and friends to demonstrate their appreciation to these individuals by making a donation to the Floyd Memorial Foundation in their honor. Individuals being honored receive special recognition and a pin denoting them as a “guardian angel.”
The Marcella Miller Nursing Scholarship was established in honor and memory of one of Floyd Memorial’s most caring and dedicated nurses. It is awarded annually to a nursing student who embodies Marcella Miller’s commitment to the nursing profession.
Medical Scholarships are awarded annually to the nursing or allied health profession most needed at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
The Commemorative Giving Program can be a touching gesture to honor someone who is important to you. These gifts are made to express a sentiment, such as sympathy, gratitude or respect. The following are types of commemorative giving generally recognized:
Memorial Gifts - To Express More Than Sympathy
A gift to honor the memory of a person who has died and to express sympathy and give consolation to the family.
Tribute Gifts - To Express Thanks, Congratulations, or Celebrate a Holiday
A gift to honor a living individual. Tributes may be given to mark a special occasion, such as a birth, an anniversary, a promotion, a graduation, a retirement or a thank you. Tribute is paid to the individual by making a gift in his or her honor (name).
When commemorative gifts are received, the family of the deceased (memorial) or the honoree (tribute) will be notified; however, the amount of the contribution will not be disclosed.
In the case of a memorial contribution, the name of the person being memorialized will be placed in the “Book of Remembrance” displayed in the Floyd Memorial Foundation.
